Hi! I am a Certified Athletic Therapist, working in private practice and team settings in Winnipeg, since 2013. My clinical practice is always one-on-one for the full duration of your appointment, and involves working with children, adults and recreational to professional athletes, providing injury assessments, rehab, and preventative care, as well as yoga and training services.
I have attended over 30 continuing education and professional development courses in North America. I have trained directly with therapists from the Prague School of Rehabilitation, with the head therapists and coaches of Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, and other renowned clinicians such as Dr. Andreo Spina, Dr. Michael Chivers, Dr. Stuart McGill, Dr. Craig Liebenson, Dr. Evan Osar, Dr. Greg Rose, Brett Jones, Cal Dietz, Lee Taft, and more.
I love to learn, and am currently in the process of completing a Master’s of Rehabilitation Science through Mc.Master University. I initially graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and completed the national written and practical board exams to certify with the Canadian Athletic Therapist’s Association in 2013.
Along with being in private practice for my entire career, I have worked as a lab instructor and lead examiner in the Kinesiology Faculty at University of Winnipeg, and as a lead examiner for the CATA exams. I am currently a member of the Board of Certification for the CATA, specifically working National Certification Exam Development.
As a Certified First Responder, I’ve worked with sports teams of varying levels, providing acute emergency care, assessments and rehab, and coordinating return to play following musculoskeletal injuries and concussions. My experience with multiple sports includes AAA hockey, university baseball and volleyball, and 3 years with the Wpg Rifles Junior Football Club which included working up to the head athletic therapist position. I also have experience working in the polyclinic and on the sideline at venues for the Manitoba Summer games, was a Venue Medical Coordinator for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, and was a member of the medical team for the World Ultimate Master’s Club Championships in 2018.
